A motorist who drove without a valid Mot certificate has been fined.

Pauline Nicolson of Flat 12, Laxdale, admitted the offence when her case was called at Stornoway Sheriff Court.

The court heard the 33-year-old was driving when stopped by police in early May. The test certificate had expired four weeks beforehand.

She was not offered a fixed penalty notice so the case was taken to court.

Honorary Sheriff Iain Macleod imposed a £120 fine to be paid by £10 weekly instalments.
