It is unclear when Stornoway pier works will be finished to allow the MV Loch Seaforth to enter service.
Hebrides News recently revealed delays were going to stretch into the New Year.
Sometime around beginning of 2015 is a vague suggested timeframe as there is no guarantee when the pier will be ready.
Any gales in January will delay the weather dependent works further.
The vessel was previously earmarked to be introduced on the route on December 20th.
But that was postponed to an unspecified time in the future.
A project meeting took place in recent days between ship owner CMAL, ferry operator Cal Mac, Stornoway Port Authority and the contractors, BAM Nuttall.
No announcement of a confirmed date was expected following the meetings as little progress had been made this month.
The MV Loch Seaforth has been waiting on the Clyde since the beginning of November.
