Spotlight on Nicolson Institute construction works     1/9/10

Issues over the construction works at the Nicolson Insitutue in Stornoway is the focus of a public meeting tonight.

 

The Springfield South building - the town’s former primary school - has  been demolished with the rubble still being trucked off the site.

 

A stack of portacabins - which will temporary classrooms for the next two years - have been sited next to the North Huts. They now appear to  be in their final position.

 

Representatives of the large consortium FMP in charge of the construction will attend tonight’s meeting. FMP is a a joint venture with Farrans, H and J Martin and the Patton Group.

 

The meeting is being held at 7.30 in the council chambers.
