Fraser Crosbie of 6 New Shielings, Marybank, Lewis, and Jodie Sharkey of 25 Kenneth Street, Stornoway, both had their charges of assault reduced after each pleaded guilty to a breach of the peace.

The pair were thrown out of a Stornoway town centre pub after creating a disturbance with their “general drunken” antics, procurator fiscal Karen Smith said.

Fraser’s solicitor, Angus Macdonald, said the 21-year-old trainee sound engineer was “totally embarrassed and ashamed.”

Ken Macdonald, said his client, bakery worker Jodie Sharkey, 28, urged sheriff David Sutherland for leniency as she was also a first offender.

The pair were admonished by the sheriff.
