The Harris Congregation of the Free Church (Continuing) is shortly to be settled with a minister, following a vacancy of twelve years.
At a recent meeting of the Presbytery of the Outer Hebrides, Rev Iain Smith accepted an unanimous call from the congregation to be their pastor.
Originally from Point, Mr Smith was formerly minister of Partick Free Church. After nine years in Glasgow he ministered for a further 12 years in the Hobart (Tasmania) congregation of the Southern Presbyterian Church in Australia, before returning to Scotland last year.
The induction due to take place on Friday 6th May in Leverburgh Free Church which has been kindly loaned.
