New minister appointed to church 18/7/14
Rev David Kirk of Uist has accepted a call to become assistant minister of Kilmallie
and Ardnamurchan Free Church in Lochaber.
The 45-year-old will join minister Rev Chris ‘Kiki’ MacRae at the end of August,
in what is his first appointment in the Free Church of Scotland ministry.
Mr Kirk has been Session Clerk at South Uist and Benbecula for the past decade, and
during this period he has also been studying at Highland Theological College.
He said: “This is an exciting opportunity to work in a growing, mission-focussed
congregation in a teaching role.
“The family and I will really miss the Uists and our church family there, but we’re
looking forward to this new stage in our lives.”
The induction is expected to take place on Friday 22nd August – subject to approval
from the Presbytery of Inverness, Lochaber and Ross.
