18 October 2021

Six families have moved into new homes in Ness on Lewis.

Alex Murray Construction handed over the cluster of affordable rental housing to HHP.

They are designed to address the housing needs of local people.

Construction work started just a year ago and a variety of one, two and three bedroom semi-detached properties are now completed.

The site has been named Sealladh Beinn Dail,  (Beinn Dail View) after a hill summit on the Dell moor. The well-known local landmark can be clearly be seen from the site.

Alex Murray, managing director of Alex Murray Construction said: “We are privileged to be involved in providing new affordable homes for six families within the Ness district.

“We are grateful to Hebridean Housing Partnership and Comhairle nan Eilean Siar for this opportunity and look forward to working with them on future projects in providing new homes within the Outer Hebrides.”

Cllr John Mackay performed the offical opening ceremony watched by tenants Tyronney and Emma Thompson (front left of photo) Alex Murray and housing officials.
