Three newly licensed ministers are set to be ordained and inducted to Free Church congregations in the Western Isles this month.

The dates for the events were agreed at a meeting of the Western Isles Presbytery this week.

Next Friday Rev David Macdonald will be inducted as as assistant minister of Back Free Church. At 25, he is the youngest of the three ministers and is married to Jayne.

The following Tuesday, Rev Paul Murray will be ordained as pastor of the Kinloch congregation. Mr Murray and his wife Amanda have two young children, Mairi Belle and Eilidh Ceit.

Rev Mark Macleod becomes the new minister at Leverburgh Free Church on Wednesday 30th. Mr . MacLeod is married to Eilidh and they have two children, Seumas and Kate.

Meanwhile, minister of the South Uist and Benbecula congregation, Rev Neil Lachie Macdonald, is heading off to Ullapool after accepting a call from the congregation there. His induction is expected to take place in September.

The post has been vacant since Rev Alasdair Macleod was appointed as pastor of Smithton Free Church in Inverness.
