New councillor elected

A new councillor for the Westside and Ness ward in Lewis has been elected.

John Norman Macleod of Barvas was the runaway winner, polling 886 votes in the by-election.

Richard Brian Froggatt received 75 votes while 59 people voted for the Green Party candidate, Gavin Macleod Humphreys.

The Percentage Poll was 39.8%. There were 1020 valid ballot papers and seven rejected ballot papers.
