New broadband equipment is to be installed ahead of making improvements to the broadband service in Lewis.
British Telecoms’ Openreach division has submitted a total of 10 planning applications to Comhairle nan Eilean Siar.
The plans seek approval to install cabinets for fixed broadband and electronic communications equipment in areas around Stornoway town, as well as out with.
Openreach are looking to install cabinets in Lower Sandwick; Bells Rd; Oliver’s Brae; MacDonald Rd; Perceval Rd South; Rigs Rd; Newmarket; Tong Rd; Macaulay Rd, and Bayhead.
