A bid to establish a music recording studio at Kirkibost Pier in Great Bernera has been approved by planners.
Peter Fletcher of Aird, Tong, Lewis, applied for planning permission to covert the former woodcraft factory into a recording studio with temporary accommodation for up to eight musicians.
The applicant said the premises would be sound proofed.
Seven representations were lodged supporting the development.
Objections against the studio highlighted concern over having resident accommodation amongst a working commercial pier.
The Comhairle's planning committee approved the plans, imposing conditions for noise control and limiting the overnight stay of any musician for a maximum of 28 consecutive days at a time.
