An island community windfarm trust has used part of its turbine profits to buy a motorised riser recliner chair for community use.

It is suited for elderly or disabled people with limited mobility and allows them to get up from their seat without help from someone else.

Horshader Community Development is making the dual motor riser chair available for loan to residents in their area which covers South Shawbost to Dalmore.

Sheena Macleod - who operates her won private homecare support service - contacted Horshader about the lack of provision of recliner chairs.

The trust though it was a great idea and purchased a chair locally.

The resource is now available for loan to anyone in the community who is in need.
