Over 100 bikers made the inaugural Midge Biters’ motorcycle rally a roaring success.
An estimated £2000 was raised for charity from the first ever which has put the Lewis and Harris event firmly on the Scottish rally map.

Returning from Leverburgh, many detoured for a run to the Callanish Stones.
Organisers said they were “overwhelmed” by the turnout and are planning to build on the experience for next summer.
Great weather with cloudless skies and sunshine all the way made it “perfect.”

Organisers crossed their fingers that at least 50 bikers would turn up which would cover their costs.

Dave McShannon, of the rally, said the money raised will be given for local dementia charities.
Mr Shannon said: “Alzheimer's and dementia affects everyone really and it’s a good cause.”
Ferry company Cal Mac also assisted in getting additional bikers across from the mainland though the demand from people wanting to get over the Minch means organisers will discuss with the shipping company how best to cope for next year.
Local bands provided music for gigs on Friday and Saturday nights while many island firms and shops donated food and supplies.
Visiting bikers praised the clean and “poshest ever toilets at a rally," in Stornoway golf club clubhouse which provided the base and also hosted the evening entertainment.
