Allan in Mod cycle ride 25/8/10
Western Isles SNP MSP, Alasdair Allan, is cycling round part of his constituency in support of the Royal National Mod being hosted in the Western Isles in 2011.
A member of Back District Choir, Alasdair Allan hopes to cycle from Stornoway to Barvas and Carloway on 26th August and then along the Pentland Road back to Stornoway in support of the 2011 Mod Challenge.
Alasdair commented: "The Mod coming to the Western Isles next year promises to be a great way to mark the Year of Islands culture.
“Along with others in the islands I have been convinced to do sponsored activities, in my case cycling 29 miles or so across my constituency and back, in aid of supporting the great celebration of Gaelic culture due to take place in the islands next year.
"I am actually having a meeting half way through the day, so it may be a bit of a complicated day, and probably an early start. Anyone who feels moved to sponsor me can leave their name at the office at 31 Bayhead, Stornoway or email me on alasdair.allan.msp@scottish.parliament.uk."
