Eilidh Cormack from Skye and Invernessian Angus MacLeod won the Comunn Gàidhealach Gold Medals at the Royal National Mod today.

 

It was 18-year-old Eilidh’s first attempt at the prestigious competition.

 

The first year Gaelic student at Glasgow University follows in the footsteps of her father, Art, who clinched the prize at the same age in Motherwell in1983. Mum, Shona, a renowned Gaelic singer.

 

Lawyer Angus Macleod, 39, was awarded the Men’s medal after two days of contests at Eden Court in his home town of Inverness.
