North Uist man Stewart Johnson, 25, has been appointed as the Free Church's ministry assistant worker in Paisley.
Paisley Free Church has been without a minister for several years and was joined as a congregation of Dowanvale in Partick,Glasgow.
Initially, this was through video linking into Sunday services but the Free Church sought to have a full time presence in the community.
Mr Johnson's role will include organising outreach ministries such as Christianity Explored, Road to Recovery, being on a rota for preaching, assisting the work of the newly established Parent and Toddler group among other initiatives.
