Three swimmers are half way through a challenge to tackle the Minch.

Colin Macleod, Norman Todd and Colleen Blair are undertaking solo swims of the Big Minch on a course which takes them 24 miles over open water between Lewis and Rubha Reidh in Gairloch.

Poor weather forced them to postpone a Saturday departure.

Colleen Blair passed the midway mark around noon about an hour ahead of the two men.

They set off from Lemreway in Pairc at 4.30am this morning and expect to arrive on the mainland side this evening.
