Over 100 motorcycles took part in a charity rally at the weekend.

The ride-out set off with a run through Stornoway before heading to Harris.

After a stop in Tarbert, they continued to Northton where Temple Café was ready to accommodate the massed motorcyclists.

Later, they returned north for a fundraising dance at Stornoway Golf Club.

The event which drew bikers from across the country hopes to raise thousands of pounds for Western Isles Action for Children.

Over 104 bikes and a number of trikes took part.

Louis Morrison of the organising committee said: “With the weather we thought the figures would be down. The weather tends to put people off but we‘ve had a good turnout“ with a similar number of bikers participating as for last year’s event.

He added: “It went well. The roads dried up nicely and everybody had a good time.”

“Police have been fantastic and help us out in getting through the town safely.”

He praised Stornoway Golf Club for providing outstanding facilities, catering and safe parking.

Mr Morrison revealed Cal Mac’s Stornoway port manager Iain Don Maciver persuaded bosses to arrange extra space for motorbikes on the Stornoway ferry, allowing more participants to attend.

The Stornoway Trust cleared ground to provide for a campsite for bikers while local businesses contributed to the running costs and donated food and raffle prizes.
