Man took car without permission

A 25-year-old Lewis man pleaded guilty to taking a car without consent when he appeared at Stornoway Sheriff Court.

The court was told Daniel Beaton of The Acres Hostel, Stornoway, removed the vehicle from Bells Road, Stornoway, in April 2014.

Sheriff David Sutherland ordered him to complete 100 hours of community service work within the next six months.
