Making a difference youth conference 19/2/14
SNP MSP Alasdair Allan took part in the Southern Isles’ Youth Conference ‘Making a Difference’ event in the Dark Island Hotel in Benbecula.
Young people discussed ways of making their community better and questioned a panel including Dr Allan.
Alasdair Allan commented: “This event was very worthwhile and I hope everyone taking part felt they benefited from it as much as I did.
“It allowed young people from Uist and Barra to think together about how their voice could be better represented in future, whether through a local forum, or the Scottish Youth Parliament.
“The question and answer session, which was ably chaired by Derek Pluto Murray was a good way to challenge local politicians and others about the issues that matter to them.”
