Major exercise to test emergency services 16/5/14
A large scale exercise to test the emergency services is taking place outside Stornoway on Tuesday.
A major accident involving mock casualties will be simulated at the Creed Business park, off the Lochs Road.
Fire, ambulance, coastguards, police as well as medics and hospital staff will be involved.
The exercise which aims to assess how well the various emergency services respond and how they work together to try and save casualties begins at 7pm and will last approximately two hours.
Emergency vehicles will be moving between the Lochside Arena and the Creed Park road during the exercise which may cause disruption for traffic.
Emergency planning organisers ask people for their patience and cooperation during the exercise.
