Long service medal for lifeboatman 16/9/14
Stornoway lifeboat’s 2nd Coxswain David Mackinnon has been presented with a RNLI long service medal to mark 20 years service to the Stornoway lifeboat.
“Twenty years, where’s it gone!” David laughed, adding: “It’s amazing and I couldn’t give it up. It’s great fun but more than a hobby, it’s a way of life and you get a lot of satisfaction back from being in the RNLI.”
RNLI Chief Executive Paul Boissier presented the medal at a recent ceremony on the island.
