A local Gaelic singing group was invited to sing at the annual London Gaelic Mass in St Mary Moorfields in the City of London.

Guthan an Iar, which practices weekly in Iochdar,  also sang a selection of Uist songs to a highly receptive audience of Gaels and Gaelic learners at a cèilidh organised by Comunn Gàidhlig Lunnain, the London Gaelic Society.

Over 40 people attended the Saturday evening cèilidh in the Lumen United Reformed Church.

The Gaelic mass, which was very well attended, was taken by Fr Seumas MacNèill  of Oban Cathedral.

‘Guthan an Iar’ was also involved in the successful performance of ‘Fuaigh’ in Talla Chàirinis as part of Ceòlas’ ‘Òran is Fonn’ conference earlier in May.
