Loganair has revealed an artist’s impression of what its new livery will look like after the airline breaks away from its Flybe link-up.

Flybe is to stop its franchise deal with Loganair for Western Isles and Northern Isles plane services.

The airlines failed to agree “future operational standards and commercial arrangements.”

Peter Simpson, chief executive of Airline Investments Ltd, Loganair’s parent company, said the firm will “be introducing a bold new corporate identity to accompany this important move.”

The airline is expected to adopt a red and black colour scheme for its planes.

A tartan clad tail section in these colours is illustrated in a design released by the firm which also shows the propeller housing in red.

The company name is emblazoned across the top of its white painted fuselage with “Scotland’s Airline” depicted on its side.

Jonathan Hinkles, managing director of Loganair, said: “We're still finalising our exact livery but the image provides a very strong indication of the style and nature of the new colour scheme.”

Loganair will stop flying under Flybe colours from next summer.
