An airline which accepts its service has to improve has posted an increase in profits.

 

Loganair posted profits of £7.2 million for the year ending March 2015 compared to £6 million in the previous year and £4.3 million for 2012-13.

 

Income from ticket sales and charters rose from £87.3 million to £93.6 million.

 

Last minute cancelled flights, travel delays and broken planes has plagued the airline and passengers for the past year.

 

Rarely does a day go by without disruption due to a faulty plane.

 

The airline said its flight punctuality figures were better than the UK average with 77% of all flights taking off within 15 minutes of the scheduled time.

 

The company repeated pledges aimed aim tackling its reliability issues which includes undertaking a £15 million investment in introducing new planes, upgrading and refurbishing its fleet of Saab 340s, and opening spare parts hub at Glasgow Airport.

 

More engineers are being recruited and it plans to take on apprentices.
