Plane operator Loganair has reported making made a near 40% increase in pre-tax profits to over £6 million in 2013.

 

The airline which flies to all Western Isles airports reported the number of passengers rose by nearly 5% to 576,750.

 

Overall, planes were nearly 66% full overall across routes which also includes its north of Scotland network and English destinations.

 

Increased charter business for the oil and gas industry and removing loss making routes boosted profits.

 

Loganair held onto two Royal Mail contracts.
