Scotland’s First Minister will raise Loganair reliability issues with the airline bosses.

Last minute cancelled flights, travel delays and broken planes has plagued the airline and passengers this year.

Concerns over the poor service was raised with Nicola Sturgeon in the Scottish Parliament.

The First Minister replied: The services provided by Loganair are lifeline services. They are absolutely vital to those who live in our island communities and there are real concerns about performance."

She said the Scottish Government will continue to discuss the "concerns and issues" with Loganair "and to demand that the issues are rectified."

Scotland’s First Minister will raise Loganair reliability issues with the airline bosses.

Last minute cancelled flights, travel delays and broken planes has plagued the airline and passengers this year.

Concerns over the poor service was raised with Nicola Sturgeon in the Scottish Parliament.

The First Minister replied: The services provided by Loganair are lifeline services. They are absolutely vital to those who live in our island communities and there are real concerns about performance."

She said the Scottish Government will continue to discuss the "concerns and issues" with Loganair "and to demand that the issues are rectified."

Nicola Sturgeon added: "I am more than happy to make the Scottish Government’s views known directly to the chief executive of the company, because we expect the highest standards for people who rely on those services."

Isles MSP Alasdair Allan is also met with the airline over the "real, undeniable problem."

 

Alasdair Allan welcome the written assurance he have received from Loganair’s chief, Stewart Adams.

 

Mr Adams stated safety is their number one priority and that no one at the company would ever allow their staff or customers to be put at risk.

 

The MSP said: “I am confident that no Loganair pilot would ever agree to fly a plane about which they had any safety concerns.

“The issue continues to be that of reliability. We desperately need a reduction in the amount of technical delays and I will be meeting Loganair in the near future to discuss their plans to improve their technical reliability. "
