There have been reports of a company up cold calling in the Stornoway area offering loft insulation.
A spokesperson for Trading Standards at Western Isles Council said: “Trading Standards’ general advice to consumers is not to engage with cold callers.
"Do not agree to any contract until you have had time to shop around and consider your options.
“Further information and advice on different schemes that are currently running is available via Home Energy Scotland’s website or by telephoning 0808 808 2282.”
