The Lochside Arena on the outskirts of Stornoway hopes to open up the building for more community activities.
But first they need to put down a new surface in the indoor arena.
The premises was purpose built in 2012 as a multi-use community building. It was used by everyone including football clubs, the college, dog shows, horse events and even car boot sales in the carpark.
Three years later a new surface was installed which made the arena primarily equestrian use.
The new Lochside board of directors hope to replace the existing surface with sand which will enable the building to become multi use again.
Spokesperson Gayle Taylor, said the building has “so much potential to be used for so much more, we have even had suggestions for ceilidhs and line dancing.
“We would warmly welcome anyone who wishes to see the facility and discuss the potential of using it for their club, organisation or private hire is also available.
“However, in order to facilitate all this, the surface needs to be renewed.”
The cost is estimated at £12,000.
A fundraising page has been set up for donations at www.gofundme.com/f/lochside-arena-funding
The arena has a massive indoor arena of 60 x 30 metres and an outdoor school of 30 x 30 metres. Facilities include toilets (including disabled access), kitchen/ meeting room, holding pens/stalls, indoor and outdoor lighting and spacious parking.
