Successful berthing trials were carried out by the new MV Loch Seaforth on her maiden visit to Ullapool.

The tests confirmed the ship can operate in and out of Ullapool harbour.

The vessel checked out how she fared in going alongside the new pier extension and to try the operation of the passenger access system.

Her stern car ramp has no problem aligning with the linkspan - two articulated lorries were driven onto her car deck to double check.

In the first encounter of the old and the new, the Loch Seaforth passed the MV Isle of Lewis in Loch Broom.

Delays in pier works at Stornoway is holding up the arrival of the Loch Seaforth in her home port. There is no date available for the ship to start on her Minch run.

Sometime in December seems to be the aim but this may be pushed back into the other side of New Year if bad weather affects construction work.
