People can get the chance to view inside the new Stornoway ferry, MV Loch Seaforth, with an open day arranged for this week.

Full commercial passenger services are due to start from early next week. All going well, the ship, will commence regular sailings from Monday

Her maiden commercial voyage is to take place tonight (Tues) when the 7,800 tonne vessel will carry a number of lorries on an overnight run to Ullapool.

Another freight run may take place on Wednesday.

The first proper passenger sailing is penciled in for Friday morning.

An open day takes place when the ship is berthed at Stornoway’s number three pier between 1pm and 3pm on Thursday.

Another public walkabout is available between 6pm and 8pm that same evening.
