Problems discovered with her bow visor has forced CalMac ferry, MV Hebrides, to ease
down operations.
MV Hebrides sailings for Tarbert and Lochmaddy will be disrupted until further notice.
The revised timetable is in force up to a week Friday and may potentially be extended
Her timetable has been rejigged with departure and arrival times altered because
the vessel is now taking longer to turnaround in port. Sailing duration at sea between
harbours on her Skye triangle service remains the same.
To assist with ferry traffic from Harris, MV Loch Seaforth, will operate a one-way
midnight voyage on Saturday night to help clear ferry traffic disruption.
The Seaforth will load at Stornoway following her regular arrival that evening and
set off for Ullapool after 10pm. No passengers can be carried on the return trip
as she repositions back to Lewis.
In addition, due to a separate issue affecting MV Hebrides's use of the passenger
gangway, all passengers will be required to embark and disembark via the car deck.
This may result in a possible delay disembarking the vessel at the arrival port.
