The new MV Loch Seaforth will sail her first proper public voyage on Friday morning, Cal Mac has confirmed.

The ferry is due to depart Stornoway at 7am. Her return run leaves Ullapool at 10.30am.

The MV Isle of Arran is expected to undertake the afternoon sailings.

Earlier overnight test runs with freight lorries have been successful for the Seaforth. Friday will be the first chance for crew to experience a complement of passengers onboard.

After Friday, the ship will undertake various voyages on the timetable. As she eases into the route, travellers are not guaranteed if the Loch Seaforth will be on any particular sailing.

Meanwhile, guided tours are taking place today (Thurs).

An open day takes place when the ship is berthed at Stornoway’s number three pier between 1pm and 3pm.

The vessel is open again to the public between 6pm and 8pm this evening.
