The postponed Lochmaddy livestock sale has been rescheduled for Tuesday.

The sale - due to take place on Monday - was cancelled iafter the MV Hebrides was taken out of service following her crash in the harbour.

No ferry has served the island since then resulting a lack of transport for livestock wagons and buyers.

Around 2,500 sheep and lambs were booked in for the sale.

A spokesperson for auctioneers, Dingwall Marts, said the sale would start at the early time of 8.30am on Tuesday.
