Councillors have voted to axe Lionel secondary school in Ness.

A deadlock decision saw Comhairle convenor Norman Macdonald use his casting vote to shut the S2 school.

Education chair Catriona Stewart moved for closure, seconded by education vice-chair David Blaney.

Cllr Kenny Macleod proposed saving the school. He was backed by cllr Charlie Nicolson.
