Leverburgh lifeboat towed a stricken boat to safety in the early hours of Thursday.

The vessel - with one person onboard - had broken down vessel off Gallan Head, Uig, on the west coast of Lewis.

The vessel had lost power and was anchored just off the shore. However, there was a heavy swell and 20 knot winds at the time.

A passing cruise ship stood by while the lifeboat headed north to the casualty.

On arrival, a tow line was secured, and the vessel was pulled to Miavaig pier.
