Local suppliers and businesses who can provide goods, island grown produce, fresh food or trade services are also encouraged to attend.

Natural Retreats is renting the castle on a long term lease from the Comhairle and plans to open the newly renovated ground floor in October. Later, the upper floors will be redeveloped into hotel rooms and self-catering accommodation.

The firm is holding a “meet and greet” event in Stornoway Town Hall between Tuesday and Thursday for people interested in working in hospitality posts or becoming a supplier.

A spokesperson said: “The event marks an excellent opportunity for local businesses and suppliers, individuals interested in job opportunities at Natural Retreats Lews Castle, and those who just want to find out a bit more about this exciting project.”

Inside the castle will be a a retail and activity space and unique function rooms to allow Lews Castle to host weddings, conferences and events.”

Locally sourced food will be available in an on-site café and guests can also have meals delivered to their room.

The spokesperson added: “Moving into 2016, Natural Retreats plans to launch five-star standard accommodation consisting of 52 bed spaces.

“These will include spacious en-suite rooms and larger suites that make the most of the unrivalled setting, some of which will contain kitchen and dining areas.

“Due to the innovative design, the accommodation can be offered to guests in different configurations containing one, two and three bedrooms.

“This allows a wide range of visitors to be accommodated from families and couples to groups and corporate guests.”

The firm said all islanders interested in finding out more about the project is also invited to the event.

For the last 25 years, the castle was left to decay but an ambitious £18 million redevelopment is bringing it back to its former glory.

A modern glass-walled museum and heritage centre has been constructed adjoining the castle.
