Lewisman banned from girlfriend’s home 12/9/12
A Lewis man has been banned from visiting his girlfriend's house.
Sheriff David Sutherland ordered William Smith, 52, of North Tolsta, to keep away from her address for the next year.
At Stornoway Sheriff Court, Smith was also banned from drinking alcohol and was placed on a two year community payback order.
In addition, he has to undertake 120 hours of community service.
Smith previously admitted resisting arrest in the house on Queensland Road in Stornoway late on Friday 3 August.
His lawyer said he had earlier been busy making a meal for his girlfriend in her
home when police turned up at the door, apparently summoned -
There had been no trouble beforehand and he was astonished the police were called. The pair started arguing when the police left.
Fiscal David Teale said police were called again and Smith struggled and refused to be handcuffed.
Smith's lawyer said relationship was still on.
