A Western Isles man has been recognised for his achievements as a trainee aircraft engineer.
Aaron Macleod of Aird Tong, Lewis, has been named Boeing Apprentice of the Year.
He said he was “surprised and delighted” to receive the award, which was presented by Nicola Welsh, Boeing’s European director.
Aaron a former pupil of Tong Primary and the Nicolson Institute secured an aircraft technician apprenticeship with Boeing when he left school in 2019.
With a year left of the apprenticeship Aaron is looking forward to a working placement at RAF Lossiemouth in the New Year.
He spent the first year of his training at the International Centre for Aerospace Training (ICAT) in Cardiff followed by time at MOD Boscombe Down, and RAF Odiham.
