Lewis Pipe Band has been awarded a trophy for taking runner-up spot in their category at the World Pipe Band Championships.

The band was up against 11 rivals throughout Scotland Ireland and Northern Ireland as well as from USA and Belgium.

Colmcille Pipe Band were top in  grade 3B on Saturday afternoon.

Lewis Pipe Band came 2nd overall with judges hailing their piping skills as the best in the section.

Adjudicators also assess each band on drumming as well as combined performance.

Shotts and Dykehead Caledonia were crowned top world champions - the first from Scotland to win the title in ten years.

The event, known as The Worlds, attract more than 200 bands from across the globe playing in eight different grades and thousands of spectators each year to Glasgow.
