The annual Lewis children’s Mòd takes place in Stornoway this week.

 

The first event is the literary prize-giving ceremony in the Newton Centre on Tuesday afternoon followed by an evening of competitions in An Lanntair.

 

Wednesday sees the drama, oral and traditional singing competitions.

 

The following say, soloist competitors will take to the stage followed by primary folk groups in the afternoon.

 

Instrumental and choir competitions are on Friday and the prize-winners concert takes place in the Nicolson Institute that evening.

 

Mod programmes are available from the An Comunn Gàidhealach office in Perceval Square.

 

High competitor numbers has meant some changes to schedules so mod-goers should check the programme.

 

Anyone wishing to volunteer with stewarding at the local mod should contact the An Comunn Gàidhealach office on 01851 703 487.
