This year's Lewis Christian Conference is being held in Stornoway Free Church from Friday 24 June through to Monday 27 June.

 

The speaker is Alistair Begg who is the senior pastor of Cleveland's Parkside Church,  Ohio, USA.

 

He is the voice behind the Truth for Life Christian radio preaching and teaching ministry that broadcasts his sermons daily to stations across the United States.

 

After graduating from the London School of Theology in 1975, he served eight years in Scotland at Charlotte Chapel in Edinburgh and Hamilton Baptist Church in Lanarkshire.

 

He is a council member of the Alliance of Confessing Evangelicals. He was educated at Trent University and Westminster Seminary.

 

Alistair’s wife, Susan, is American by birth and he himself became a US citizen in 2004. He and his wife have been married over 30 years and have three grown children.

 

The Conference theme is "Looking to Jesus." On the Friday evening, Mr Begg will speak on the subject "The Kingdom of God is at Hand" from Mark 1 14-39.  

 

The following evening, the subject is "This Scripture Fulfilled" from Luke 4:16-30.

 

His topic on the Monday is "I Who Speak to You Am He" from John 4:1-4.

 

On the Sunday, Mr Begg will preach at Lochs Free Church, Crossbost, at 11am and Stornoway Free Church, Kenneth Street, in the evening. He will also speak at a fellowship in the M.A. Memorial Hall, Kenneth Street, at 8.30pm.
