Lewis author wins Gaelic literary prize 26/8/14
Acair author, Norma Macleod of Shawbost, Lewis, is this year’s winner of the prestigious Donald Meek Award.
Her novel, An Dosan, is to be published as part of a new Gaelic fiction series.
Norma said she was delighted to have been chosen for the award.
Acair manager, Agnes Rennie, said: “Many will associate Norma’s name with the children’s books she has versioned into Gaelic.
“This new novel confirms Norma’s place as a first class writer of fiction.”
