Leverburgh lifeboat tows vessel to safety          20/7/12

A tourist passenger boat was towed to safety by Leverburgh Lifeboat last night.

The 12.8 metre Enchanted Isles had 15 people on board when the engine broke down between the islands of Pabbay and Shillay, to the west end of the Sound of Harris around 7.30pm.

Lifeboat crew established a towline between the two vessels and pulled her to Leverburgh pier, where the boat was returned to its mooring.

This is the lifeboat’s fourth call-out since the station was made operational in May.
