Six commissioners have been selected for the first Scottish Land Commission.

The appointments, which are subject to Parliamentary approval, are: Andrew Thin, Professor David Adams, Megan MacInnes, Lorne MacLeod and Dr Sally Reynolds.

Dr Bob McIntosh is the tenant farming commissioner.

Scottish ministers have selected Andrew Thin - former chairman of Scottish Natural Heritage - to chair the body, which will be located in Inverness and will be operational from April 2017.

Lewis crofter, Dr Sally Reynolds coordinates the Lewis and Harris Greylag Goose Management Scheme on behalf of SNH. She is currently development officer for the Carloway Estate Trust on Lewis.

Lorne MacLeod is chairman of Community Land Scotland and a board member of Storas Uibhist.

Originally from Skye, crofter Megan MacInnes works part-time as a land advisor to Global Witness, a London-based agency.

Professor David Adams, a senior academic with significant experience of planning and development, land reform and urban issues.

Retired civil servant, Dr Bob McIntosh, has extensive experience in public policy, in particular in land management and forestry.
