Sir,

It took Labour Party activists less than 24 hours from the announcement of the election results to start misleading the public.

To tell people that the strong vote for the SNP has led to a Conservative government is complete nonsense. The Conservatives won a total of 331 seats versus Labour's 232 - a majority of 99. Had Labour won all the SNP seats there would still have been a Conservative majority of 43.

The Labour Party did badly in Scotland and in many ways their performance in England was little better.

Instead of blaming other parties like the SNP, the Labour Party should look inwardly at themselves and question their own policies and strategies.

This continued sniping does nothing for them, the political scene or the general public.
