A 23-year-old man who brandished a knife and created a disturbance has appeared in court.

Andrew George MacDuff admitted a charge of behaving in a threatening manner, shouting and swearing, and brandishing a knife in a house in Lemreway in Lewis on 16 August.

MacDuff, whose address was given as 1 Mary Brown Walk, Garelochead, Helensburgh, pleaded guilty to another charge of entering South Lochs while banned.

Following an earlier court appearance in November 2014, he had been released on bail on condition he would keep away from the district.

Stornoway Sheriff Court heard he breached that ban and was at a Lemreway address on 10 January.

Sheriff David Sutherland called for reports and deferred sentencing to a later date.
