Man denies knife accusation

A 26-year-old man accused of having a knife in Stornoway town centre denies the charge.

Michael Mackenzie of Seaforth Road, Stornoway, faces an accusation of having a kitchen knife with him in a public place on Monday afternoon.

He denied the charge when he appeared at Stornoway Sheriff Court.

Hon sheriff Iain Macleod set trial for December and released him on bail.
