A buyout vote for the Keose Glebe village in Lewis is underway.

 

Ballot slips should be returned to the Comhairle by noon on Tuesday.

 

Following consultation with crofters and residents, the Keose Glebe steering group in South Lochs are spearheading the possibility of a community buyout.

Landless cottars from Crossbost and Leurbost staged a raid on the glebe - good agricultural land attached to the manse -  was in 1893.

Later, in 1932, it was broken up into crofts.
