Jeremy Clarkson on Grand Tour of North Uist

Grand Tour presenters Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May are filming TV scenes on North Uist.
Cameras are following the former Top Gear stars on an Edinburgh to the Hebrides road trip. The show has been commissioned by Amazon Prime.
Three big American 70’s classic cars rolled off the MV Hebrides at Lochmaddy today along with another 20 production vans. Their fleet is larger than usual due to covid social distancing restrictions for film crews.
The Buick, Lincoln and Cadillac halted for a pitstop outside Taigh Chearsabhagh while the stars and production team got their bearings and admired the view.
On Monday morning, filming takes place at the stunning Valley Strand on the north coast of North Uist. Pontoons are being laid out at low water to provide a bridge over the tidal sands to Valley Island.
Shooting also took place in the Highlands and Islands last week. On Saturday, the trio drove from Inverness, along part of the Ullapool road, turning off at Garve to record scenes at Kinlochewe.
Last night (Saturday) was spent in Skye before boarding the Uist-bound ferry - taking up about half the car deck space.
